Easily accessible from the world-famous Cabot Trail

North from the Canso Causeway

At the Canso Causeway, follow Highway 105 past Baddeck until you reach Exit 11 or 12. Exit 11 is a beautiful drive but adds about 20 minutes to your driving time. As you approach this exit, you will see a sign to notify you of the status of the Englishtown Ferry, which is a small cable ferry. If the amber lights are flashing you must take Exit 11 to Ingonish. If the lights are not flashing, you may wish to proceed to Exit 12 , Englishtown. Follow this road until you reach the Englishtown Ferry.

Once you disembark, travel north for approximately one hour, over Cape Smokey Mountain. You are now in Ingonish Beach. Continue along for approximately 9 kilometers. Rocky Bay Cottages will be on the left. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to travel from the Canso Causeway to Rocky Bay Cottages.

South from Route 19 and Margaree Area

Take Route 19 at Port Hastings. Follow Route 19 until you join up with the Cabot Trail at Margaree Forks. Turn left at Margaree Forks and follow on the Cabot Trail to Ingonish. Along the way, you will travel through the communities of Cheticamp, Pleasant Bay and Cape North. It is approximately 4 hours driving time from Port Hastings to the cottages taking this route, but the scenery is amazing as you travel along the Cabot Trail.
